Milk precious milk.

Nora's first food was milk.

My best attempts at giving her pure mummy milk were almost shattered but we made it about 97% mummy milk. For six weeks we fed with just one side! With the help of a hospital grade breast pump, the support of a great health care visitor, a patient husband who was thankfully out of work at the time- I could not have done it without him being there!, a dermatologist, la leche leaugue advisiors, and a father in law saving the day when we were supplied with a breast pump that didn't work.. to name just a few! I had no idea that I (and my husband!) would feel so passionately about breast feeding.. or that it would be SUCH an entire uphill struggle for months. After 4 long painful months with severely wounded taps an abscess and an infection then thrush at treating the infection... feeding on one side, feeding on no sides (pumping out) we finally made it to feeding 'normally' I might even breast feed her for the next 2 years in celebration of what we've gotten through.

Any mum who has handed her hungry frustrated crying baby to another saying 'take her away right now' and one minute later crying 'bring her back!' knows what I am talking about.

So maybe this has part to play with why I am so interested in feeding Nora the best, the healthiest, and yes tasty good foods.

Welcome on our journey!
Please feel free to share your feeding experiences and recipes with us too.
